It was 89 in the heat of the political landscape and the heart of the punk scene that was exploding Dee Dee decided to leave the iconic punk act The Ramones. So who do you get to fill in for Dee Dee and along comes Chris Ward straight out of the Marine Corps. Hurrah! Fresh, young and full of energy. Wait that won't work - all members of the Ramones end in the band moniker so what's Chris's title then.. C.J Ramone.. Yeah! That will work. Years went by and C.J became family literally after marrying "Chessa", Marky's niece and was even credited to keeping the band fresh and full of energy right up to the very end in 96. Bu...

    March 26, 2017

For the uninitiated, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes consist of Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape on the guitar, Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) on the other guitar, Lagwagon drummer and Fat Wreck utility superhero Dave Raun on the skins, and are rounded out by Fat Wreck-head-honcho/NOFX main-dude Fat Mike, and incomparable crooner Spike Slawson. Together, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes — an outfit that has always operated more like a beer-hall Pussycat Dolls than a regular mortal band—contain so much hot air, so much pomp, so much attitude, that it’s a wonder that these guys can still manage to pull their five individual tour bus...

    March 24, 2017

It can be said, without any exaggeration, that The Real McKenzies are a national treasure.

Founded in 1992 by the larger than life, punk-rock poet laureate, Mr Paul McKenzie, this merry band of miscreants has spent a quarter century circumnavigating the globe to bring the McKenzies gospel to an ever-adoring throng of rebels, scallywags and ne’er do wells. There aren't many bands that can boast of a twenty five year career as staggeringly adventurous, wildly tempestuous and utterly death-defying as The Real McKenzies. It would be a serious mistake to write them off as just another Celtic punk band. They...
